QUETTA, July 19: Security forces on Wednesday launched an operation against so called ‘farari camps’ in the hilly areas of Harnai, Sibi and Karmo-Wadh on Wednesday.
According to reports reaching here, the operation began at around 9am and targeted hideouts of militant tribesmen involved in attacking security forces and government installations.
Helicopter gunships were seen shelling Spin Tangi, Babar Kach, Tandori, Jalri, Sangan and some areas between Harnai and Sibi.
Officials said that security forces had destroyed several camps.
“Saboteurs were using these camps (as bases) for attacking railway tracks and security forces’ checkposts in the area,” the sources said.
No casualty has so far been reported.
Militants claimed that 10 to 12 helicopter gunships took part in the operation and jet fighters were also seen in the area. They did not say anything about casualties.
“No information is available because of the intense shelling in the area,” Allah Bakhsh
Mari, an elder of the Mari tribe said.
Accordin Our Correspondent form Babar Kach, Tandori, Jalri, Harnai and Sibi, Fighter jets have also been flying in the area and Guships helicopets are pounding the civilians populated area since Tuesady. No causulties have been reportd yet as the intensive bombing is still going on, beause of that its very hard for our sources to go into the area and report the causulties but our team is trying thier best to contact the local people to find out if there has been any causultly so far. It must be reminded that the above mentioned areas are a only a civilian populated areas. The clames of Farari Camps in the area are nothing but lies.
Bugti House again cordoned off
QUETTA, July 19: A heavy contingent of police was again deployed at the residences of secretary general Senator Shahid Bugti and provincial president Mir Hamayun Khan Marri of the JWP on Wednesday.
According to Senator Shahid Bugti, police cordonned off the Bugti House on the Fatima Jinnah Road at around 12.45 in the night. Police officials informed himi that they had been asked to deploy force but they did not know the reason.
He said that police were also deployed around the residence of Mir Hamayun Khan Marri, the son-in-law of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, at the Sariab Road at the same time.
