Karachi: Eight Baloch have been killed in an indiscriminate firing incident in Hassan Lashkari Village (a Baloch populated area) in Karachi. Family members of the murdered men encircled the Sindh CM house and demanded the immediate arrest of culprits; the locals believe that the murderers belong to a Refugee Organisation (MQM).
BBC Urdu and other sources reported that the incident occurred after the dead body of Amir (believed to be an activist of MQM) was found in Osmanabad area. Following this incident MQM armed men attacked the Hassan Lashkari village in Karachi.
Eye witnesses reported that the armed terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on a group of Baloch people who were sat outside their house and killed six men on the spot, the victims have been identified as Yunas Baloch, Osman Baloch, Shakir Baloch, Babul Baloch and Nadir Baloch where as another two victims a male and a female could not be named immediately. More than a dozen people are reported injured in this unprovoked attack. The relative of the victims alleged that passersby have also been shot dead by the MQM armed men.
A local councillor, Mr Zafar Baloch who is a member of PPP (Pakistan peoples’ party – the ruling party) alleged that MQM has targeted these people because of their support for PPP. “If these people has supported the MQM today they would not have been shot dead so mercilessly” he alleged. He further said that he has no enmity against MQM but whenever any MQM activist gets killed, the MQM attacks the neighbouring Baloch villages to avenge their members.
Meanwhile Faisal Sabzwari of MQM rejected the allegation of Zafar Baloch and said that his party workers are also becoming victims of target killing. “13 MQM members have been killed in past few months” alleged the MQM leader.
On the other hand the relatives of the murdered men have encircled the Sindh CM house and refused to take the dead bodies away until the culprits are arrested. They believed that MQM IS the party behind this carnage and it is obvious that MQM being an allied party of PPP, it must have the support of the current government. The gangs in Lyari (Karachi) also belong to PPP be them Baloch or any other nationality.
It will not be wrong to hold PPP responsible for all these so called gang wars and the target killing of innocent people in Karachi’s Baloch populated areas. Whether the War is between the drug mafia gangs and the MQM land mafia hooligans or an infighting of the gangs, the victims of this war are innocent Baloch civilians. It must be noted that whenever the PPP has been in power, the criminal gangs, drug mafia and land mafia has been given a free hand to continue their illegal businesses and the carnage of innocent Baloch people in Karachi.
Today once again the MQM terrorists and Drug mafia criminals are roaming free after committing gruesome murders as such as the killing of eight innocent Baloch in Hassan Lashkari village. It is high time for the Baloch people not only in Karachi but everywhere in Sindh and Balochistan to unite and come to the aid of each other. If these criminals are not stopped on time they will continue to commit murder of innocent people and the government will not do anything but to issue news statements because these criminals are hand in clove with the government, they cannot commit such heinous crimes on their own.
