Open in new windowKhuzdar (Nov 30) : Unknown persons attacked Awaran Police station, looted weapons and kidnapped four officials. SHO Police Station Awaran (Central Baluchistan) Muhammad Rafiq Baloch giving details of the incident said that nearly 35 persons riding two vehicles and motorcycles reached Police Station Awaran in the wee hours Sunday. He said unknown persons overpowered an official and then took hostage other officials in the police station.

They broke down the lock of Kote ( weapons room) and mal khana and took away kalashinkov (60), lmg (9), G-3 rifles (9), pistol and cartridges of different calibres, bullet proof jackets (5), wireless sets (2), pistol (7). They also took four officials Muhammad Jan, Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Ashraf and Haneef and abducted them to unknown place. Later they released the four officials in Mangal area of Mashkay. Police chased the armed men hours after they looted the weapons but returned in vain.

220 kv tower blown up near Mach: Unknown persons blew up a 220 kv transmission line tower near Mach suspending supply to several parts of Baluchistan. According to details unknown persons blew up a 220 kv transmission line tower at Bibi Nani near Mach on Eid day. Tower was completely destroyed. Electricity wires were also disconnected. As a result power supply to several parts of Baluchistan was suspended. Repair of the destroyed tower could not be taken up even after two days of destruction.

Due to destruction of tower, QESCO was suffering from 700 mw of shortage. Twelve to 16 hours load shedding was being observed in Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Mashkay, Noshki and Chaman and two to three hours load shedding in Quetta. QESCO sources said that work on the repair of destroyed tower would be undertaken after security clearance by concerned officials.

Rocket defused: Police defused a rocket in Wadh area. Police said that it found a rocket in Lop area of Wadh Tehsil. It was defused and removed from the spot.
