CITY POLICE STATION QUETTA

QUETTA - At least 22 people including six police officials were wounded in a hand grenade attack on a police station in provincial capital on Saturday.
According to police sources, unidentified people hurled two hand grenades at City Police station located on the crowded Liaquat Bazaar where people were busy buying things for Eid. The hand grenades landed infront of police station and exploded with a big bang. As a result, 22 people including six police officials sustained injuries.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for treatment, where condition of three injured was stated to be serious. The injured police officials were identified as ASI Rasool Bakhsh, Constable Dur Muhammad, Constable Sher Muhammad, Constable Ali Akbar Shah, Constable Juma Khan and Constable Muhammad Iran. Attackers managed to escape from the site after committing the crime.
Soon after the incident, police and personnel of Frontiers Corps (FC) cordoned off the area and police started probe into the attack.
In yet another similar incident, unidentified assailants lobbed a hand grenade at Mali Bagh area of City which exploded and injured one person namely Hadayatullah. No group has claimed the responsibility for hand grenade attacks so far.
In another incident, a bomb blast,killed a person and wounded six others in Jaffarabad district.
As per reports reaching here, unidentified people had planted explosive device outside a restaurant in tehsil Sobat Pur of Jaffarabad.
The device exploded and killed a person identified as Godu Jamali and wounded Amanullah, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Pana, Bangar, Mehram Ali and his 12 year old son Qurban. They were shifted to hospital for treatment. Polices sources said that explosive device was planted in a motorbike which was parked outside restaurant while police have arrested an injured Amanullah in connection with the bomb blast. Police has started further investigations.
Meanwhile, spokesman of Baloch Republican Army (BRA) Sarbaaz Baloch claimed the responsibility for the bomb blast in Sobat Pur.
