Open in new windowNASIRABAD: Militants who kidnapped 30 people, including at least 20 policemen, from Balochistan’s Nasirabad district’s Chattar area have warned that if the government does not release Baloch prisoners from its jails, the remaining police officials will also be killed, BBC Urdu reported. Late last Tuesday, police recovered dead bodies of four police officials from Chattar. The four, including Station House Officer (SHO) Ehsan Khosa, were kidnapped by the Baloch Republican Army.

Spokesman for the Baloch Republican Army, Sarbaz Baloch, has warned that if by Thursday, all Baloch prisoners are not released, the remaining police officials will be murdered one after another, BBC Urdu reported.

Meanwhile, the BRA spokesman said the group has not yet decided if the other hostages are to be released or killed.

On the other hand, DIG Sibi range said the government is mulling over measures to recover all those kidnapped.

Initially the Baloch Republican Army had given the government a two-day ultimatum and had warned that if all prisoners were not released from Balochistan’s jails within that time, then all kidnapped police officials would be killed. The four police officials were killed after the two-day deadline ended.

It may be mentioned that on July 31, Baloch militants had kidnapped 11 labourers from Nasirabad. Subsequently, SHO Khosa and his team chased the militants. However, Khosa and at least 20 other police officials were kidnapped during the chase. In the scuffle that lead to the police’s kidnapping, DSP Mohammad Ali and three other officials were also killed.
