 QUETTA: Four people, including three tribesmen were killed and five others were injured in landmine explosions and grenade attack in Noshki and Mastung, on Wednesday.
According to sources, two landmine explosions took place in a village near the Pak-Afghan border area of Noshki district, some 200 kilometre west of provincial capital Quetta.
Three local tribesmen were hit by a landmine planted in the Sardar Abdul Samad village in Noshki district, and died on the spot. ‘Their motorcycle was blown up in the powerful blast,’ a senior police officer said.
Sources add that three other people also sustained injuries when another landmine exploded in the same area. Security forces rushed to the site after the explosions and shifted the victims to Civil Hospital, Noshki.
‘The condition of two injured victims is serious and we are trying to save their lives,’ hospital sources said.
Meanwhile, another incident occurred in Mastung where one person was killed and two others received injuries when unknown people attacked Al-Maka bakery with a hand grenade.
According to eye-witnesses, two men on motorbike hurled a head grenade at the bakery but it exploded on the road, resulting in two casualties.
No arrests have been made in either case, nor has any group claimed responsibility.
Gas pipeline blown up in Dera Bugti
QUETTA: Unidentified men blew up a pipeline supplying gas to Sui in Lotty area of Dera Bugti on Wednesday. The men had placed explosives under the 16-inch diameter pipeline that damaged a portion of the pipeline, affecting gas supply to the Sui Power Plant
