Bakhtiar Domki rejects the police statement that killing his family members were a result of personal enmity

Karachi: A day after the killing of his wife and daughter, Balochistan MPA Mir Bakhtiar Khan Domki on Tuesday refused to accept the police statement that the killings were a result of personal enmity.

The women killed in the incident were the sister and niece of Brahmdagh Bugti, a leading figure in the Baloch insurgency. The victims’ close relation to the nationalist leader has made the murder a point of much controversy.

There are currently two theories for the motives behind the murder: the first is that the incident is a pressure tactic by the establishment to cow down Bugti, while the second says that the murder is a part of the recent wave of target killings in Karachi, in which 10 people have been shot dead in the past two days.
