When: Sunday 5 September between 12 to 5pm
Where: In front of 10 Downing Street (The British PM’s House)
Nearest Tube Station: Westminster Tube Station

London:As Pakistan army launched its fifth military incursion in Eastern Baluchistan, the Baluch masses, appalled by military’s excessive use of force against civilians, voiced their anger unanimously against the state. As a result, the army further intensified its terror campaign across the Baluchistan – killing scores of innocent men, women and children and arresting thousands of political workers on trumped-up charges, while, driving around a quarter of a million people out of their towns and villages.

FLOOD SITUATION IN BALOCHISTAN "A TRAGEDY WITHIN THE TRAGEDY"

Date: 02 Sep 2010

(New York / Geneva / Islamabad: 02 September 2010): The United Nations and its partners are increasingly concerned about the humanitarian situation in flood-torn Pakistan's south-western province of Balochistan, and are working to step up their activities there.

"We all have a tendency to follow the course of the River Indus, and Balochistan risks being neglected", said Mengesha Kebede, Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Pakistan, "But we won't let this happen, and are scaling up our response". The River Indus — which has been the main carrier of the floods — does not flow through the province, but water from it and from its tributaries has ravaged 11 of its districts.

Human rights violations by Pakistan remain some of the world’s worst and are the ‘least reported’ says official.

There is no way to measure which is the worst when it comes to human rights violations: Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan or Balochistan.

Curt Goering, who is senior deputy executive director of Amnesty International USA (AIUSA), and currently works at the organization’s national section headquarters in New York City, said this at an Iftar gathering organized by the Amnesty International at its Washington DC headquarters Tuesday.

Poem and personal testimony: When will the Balochs stop being victims of the Pakistani paramilitary forces?

By Khalid Hayat Jamaldin

Torture and kidnap of Balochs in Balochistan by the Pakistani law enforcement, especially the paramilitary forces, has become very common practice since the last few years. They kidnap us, arrest us on false charges, torture us, brutally murder us and then throw us away. Many of us are still missing. The reasons behind these incidents are because we are Baloch by ethnic and we are continuously demanding for our rights and identity. This mistreatment happens to Baloch at all level; rich and poor educated and uneducated.

Pakistan Govt harassing motorcyclists in Balochistan

Occupied Balochistan: The Balochistan government and security agencies are reportedly harassing motorcyclists in the insurgency-hit province, which has caused a sense of insecurity amongst the citizens.

For the past couple of days, police and other law enforcement agencies had made it a common practice to detain motorcyclists for hours without asking them to show the documents of their vehicles. The citizens’ time was being wasted as nearly all motorists had been stopped at many intersections of Quetta. The Balochistan government and the law enforcement agencies had failed to explain their action of stopping the motorcyclists at every intersection while the citizens had also failed to sort out this strange behaviour of the law enforcement agencies. No government spokesman or official was available to answer this recent move of the government despite the fact that common citizens and motorcyclists had nothing to with the functioning of the government and its subordinate agencies.
